Reclaim Your Breasts' Youthful Contour

A Combined Solution for Lift and Volume

Combine the benefits of a breast lift and breast augmentation in a single procedure — restoring both shape and volume in one recovery.

Breast Lift with Implants at a Glance

  • Overview

A breast lift with implants — also known as augmentation mastopexy — combines a breast lift and a breast augmentation in one procedure. It's ideal for women who have sagging breasts and also desire more volume, creating a youthful and proportionate breast contour.

  • Recovery

Recovery is more involved than a single procedure. Swelling and bruising are expected, and a compression bra is worn to aid in healing. Most patients return to work within two to three weeks, with a full return to normal activities in about six to eight weeks.

  • Results

Results are immediate and transformative — providing a firmer, perkier, and more voluminous breast contour. The procedure addresses both breast sagging and loss of volume in a single recovery, restoring a body that reflects how you feel.

Am I a Good Candidate?

You are an excellent candidate for a breast lift with implants if you have sagging breasts (a condition known as breast ptosis) and also desire more breast volume. This is a common concern for women after pregnancy, breastfeeding, or significant weight loss. The procedure is an ideal solution for those who are unhappy with a "deflated" or "empty" appearance and want to restore a more youthful, full breast contour. The most important factors are being in good overall health, at a stable weight, and having realistic expectations. We will assess your specific anatomy and create a surgical plan tailored to your unique goals — including whether the procedure should be performed in one stage or two.

What Do Scars Look Like?

A breast lift with implants results in permanent scars. The pattern depends on the degree of breast sagging. A "lollipop" incision — around the areola and vertically down to the breast crease — is a common technique. For more significant sagging, an "anchor" incision adds a horizontal component along the breast crease. Our surgeons place these incisions in the most discreet locations possible, and they fade over time to be well-concealed by clothing or swimsuits.

The Surgical Process

The Surgical Process

A breast lift with implants is a comprehensive surgical procedure performed under general anesthesia. The surgeon makes incisions in a predetermined pattern to remove excess skin, reshape the breast tissue, and reposition the nipple and areola to a more youthful height. Once the breast tissue is re-contoured, the implant is placed — either under or over the chest muscle — to add the desired volume. In certain patients, the procedure is performed in two stages: the mastopexy (lift) first, with the augmentation as a second surgery about 6 months later. This depends on your specific anatomy and risk profile.

The Benefits of a Combined Procedure

The dual benefit of a breast lift and breast augmentation in a single procedure is that it addresses both sagging and volume loss at the same time. A breast lift alone provides lift but cannot restore volume. A breast augmentation alone cannot correct significant sagging. By combining the two — whether in one stage or two — we create a result that is both proportionate and long-lasting.

Surgeon's Notes

Jane Namkung, MD

When I do this in one stage — and when in two

The single-stage augmentation mastopexy is one of the most technically complex procedures we do, because two competing forces are at play: a breast lift tightens the skin envelope, while an implant expands the volume inside it. Get the balance wrong and you risk wound healing problems or implant malposition. For most patients with moderate sagging and moderate volume needs, I do this in one stage with excellent results. For patients with very significant sagging, very thin skin, or a history of wound healing issues, I'll recommend a two-stage approach: lift first, then implant 6 months later when the lifted tissues have settled and the skin is at its new equilibrium. The two-stage path takes longer but reduces complication risk meaningfully — and I'd rather take the cautious path than rush into a single surgery that doesn't go well.

Breast Lift with Implants Recovery & Results Timeline

Please remember this is just a guide for Breast Lift with Implants recovery. Every individual and recovery is unique. Your surgeon will provide you with personalized instructions and recovery times after your procedure.
