Mommy Makeover at a Glance
-
Overview
A mommy makeover is a highly customized combination of surgical procedures designed to address the physical changes that occur after pregnancy and childbirth. It typically includes a tummy tuck to flatten the abdomen and a breast procedure — a lift, augmentation, or both — to restore a more youthful contour.
-
Recovery
As a combination procedure, recovery is more involved than a single surgery. Expect a few weeks of limited activity and a gradual return to your normal routine over several months as swelling subsides and the body heals.
-
Results
Results are immediate and transformative. The procedure provides a more toned abdomen, a youthful breast contour, and an overall more defined silhouette — restoring a body that reflects the work you've already put in.

More Details About Mommy Makeover
A Single Recovery for Multiple Procedures
The Surgical Process
A mommy makeover is a highly customized surgical procedure performed under general anesthesia. The surgeon performs a combination of procedures tailored to your specific needs. This typically includes a tummy tuck to repair stretched abdominal muscles and remove excess skin, paired with a breast procedure to restore volume, lift the breasts, or both. The entire process is designed to be as safe and efficient as possible, providing a comprehensive solution in a single surgical session.
A Holistic Approach to Post-Pregnancy Confidence
The physical changes that occur after pregnancy can be a source of significant frustration for many women. A mommy makeover is a holistic approach to body contouring that addresses what diet and exercise alone cannot — particularly diastasis recti, the separation of the abdominal muscles that nearly always accompanies pregnancy. Our surgeons will work with you to create a personalized plan that addresses all of your concerns and helps you reclaim your body.
Surgeon's Notes
Why we combine procedures in one recovery
Some practices split a mommy makeover into two or three separate surgeries spread across a year. We typically don't — and the reason matters. A patient who's already taken time off work and arranged childcare for one surgery has a much harder time doing it three times. By combining the tummy tuck and breast work in a single, well-planned operation, we ask for one recovery instead of three. The trade-off is that the combined surgery is longer (typically 4–6 hours) and the early recovery is more involved. We have a careful conversation in consultation about whether you have the support at home — partner, family, paid help — to manage that first week. With the right support, the combined approach is significantly easier on a patient's life overall.

Mommy Makeover Recovery & Results Timeline
Please remember this is just a guide for Mommy Makeover recovery. Every individual and recovery is unique. Your surgeon will provide you with personalized instructions and recovery times after your procedure.

You will experience pain, swelling, and bruising. You will have drains in place and a compression garment to aid in healing. Mobility will be limited.

The drains will be removed, and you can return to light, non-strenuous activities. The majority of swelling and bruising will have subsided.
4 – 6 Weeks
The remaining swelling will continue to resolve. You can gradually return to a full exercise routine, but avoid heavy lifting.
6 Months – 1 Year
All residual swelling will have completely resolved, and the final results of your mommy makeover will be fully apparent and stable.
