The Surgical Process
The Surgical Process
Labiaplasty is an outpatient procedure that can be performed under local anesthesia with sedation or under general anesthesia. The surgeon makes a precise incision to trim the excess labial tissue and uses fine, dissolvable sutures to close the wound. The procedure is highly customized to each patient’s unique anatomy and aesthetic goals.
A Solution for Both Comfort and Confidence
The decision to undergo a labiaplasty is a deeply personal one. For many women, it is a life-changing procedure that provides relief from physical discomfort and a significant boost in self-confidence. We are committed to providing a safe, comfortable, and professional environment where you can openly discuss your concerns and feel empowered to make the best decision for your body.
Surgeon's Notes
A consultation conversation that's worth having out loud
Labiaplasty is one of the procedures most patients come in feeling apprehensive even to discuss — and I want to change that. The reasons women consider this procedure are practical and common: discomfort cycling, riding horses, or wearing certain clothing; pain during intercourse; embarrassment in intimate situations. None of those reasons are silly, and you do not need to justify them. My job in consultation is to listen, examine the anatomy with the same clinical focus I'd bring to any other procedure, and tell you honestly whether surgery is likely to give you the result you're hoping for. About 1 in 10 patients I see for labiaplasty consultation are better served by a different intervention or by no surgery at all — and I'd rather have that conversation than perform a procedure that won't actually solve the problem.

Labiaplasty Recovery & Results Timeline
Please remember this is just a guide for Labiaplasty recovery. Every individual and recovery is unique. Your surgeon will provide you with personalized instructions and recovery times after your procedure.
Day 1 – 3
You will experience swelling and discomfort, which can be managed with pain medication. We recommend a few days of rest and limited activity. We recommend not sitting with direct pressure on the area (like on a saddle) during the 6-week healing period. Ice packs and Tucks pads work well to soothe the area.
1 – 2 Weeks
The majority of swelling will have subsided, and you can typically return to work and light, non-strenuous activities.
3 – 4 Weeks
All bruising should have resolved. The area will still be sensitive, but you can gradually return to more strenuous activities.
6 – 8 Weeks
You will be fully recovered and can return to all of your normal activities, including exercise and sexual activity.
