Silky, Smooth Skin Without the Hassle

Permanent Hair Reduction for Lasting Confidence

Say goodbye to endless shaving and waxing with a safe, effective, and permanent solution for unwanted hair.

Laser Hair Removal at a Glance

  • Overview

Laser hair removal uses concentrated light energy to target the melanin in the hair bulb and bulge of the hair follicle. By disabling the follicle's ability to grow hair, it provides long-term reduction in unwanted hair on various areas of the body for both men and women.

  • Recovery

The procedure requires no downtime, allowing you to return to your daily activities immediately. After a session, you may experience minor redness or swelling at the treatment site, which typically subsides within a few hours.

  • Results

Optimal results are achieved after a series of treatments, as hair grows in different cycles. With each session, you will notice a significant reduction in hair growth, leading to permanently smoother, clearer skin over time.

Am I a Good Candidate?

If you are tired of the constant cycle of shaving, tweezing, and waxing, you are an excellent candidate for laser hair removal. This treatment is a convenient and effective solution for individuals with dark brown or black hair seeking smoother skin on the face, legs, arms, underarms, or bikini area. Our advanced laser technologies — the Cutera CoolGlide® and Prowave LX — are safe and effective for virtually all skin types and tones. This procedure is also an ideal choice for patients who suffer from ingrown hairs or razor burn, as it eliminates the need for daily shaving. During your consultation, our team will assess your skin and hair type to create a customized treatment plan.

What Do Scars Look Like?

Laser hair removal is a non-invasive procedure that, when performed correctly by a trained professional, carries a very low risk of scarring. The laser targets the pigment within the hair follicle itself, leaving the surrounding skin largely unaffected. Any temporary side effects — mild redness, swelling, or a slight sunburn-like sensation — are normal and are not associated with permanent scarring. Choosing a reputable provider with the right technology and strictly adhering to pre- and post-treatment instructions are the most important factors in ensuring a safe outcome.

How Laser Hair Removal Works

How the Laser Works to Stop Hair Growth

Our laser hair removal system utilizes the Cutera CoolGlide® or Prowave LX — state-of-the-art YAG lasers that emit powerful, yet safe, pulses of light. This light energy is absorbed by the melanin (pigment) in the hair follicle. The energy converts to heat, which destroys the hair follicle and disables its ability to grow new hair. The technology is designed to cool the skin’s surface as the light is delivered, ensuring a comfortable treatment.

Understanding the Hair Growth Cycle

The reason laser hair removal requires a series of treatments is the natural hair growth cycle. Hair follicles go through active growth (anagen), transitional (catagen), and resting (telogen) phases. The laser is only effective on follicles in the active growth phase. Because not all follicles are in the same phase at the same time, multiple sessions spaced several weeks apart are necessary to treat all hairs in the target area.

Surgeon's Notes

Why hair color drives the conversation

Laser hair removal works on the contrast between pigment in the hair and pigment in the surrounding skin. Dark hair on light skin is the easy case — most patients see 80%+ reduction after a series. White, gray, or very blonde hair has no pigment for the laser to target, so it doesn't respond at all. Red hair is in between. The other variable is hormones: hair driven by hormonal cycles (especially on the face, chin, and lower abdomen) can grow back over years even after a complete clearance, and patients with PCOS should plan for ongoing maintenance. I tell every patient in consultation what their hair type can realistically achieve so they're not surprised.

Laser Hair Removal Recovery & Results Timeline

Please remember this is just a guide for Laser Hair Removal recovery. Every individual and recovery is unique. Your surgeon will provide you with personalized instructions and recovery times after your procedure.

1

Immediately After the Session

You can return to your daily routine, but you may experience temporary redness or a mild sunburn-like sensation on the treated area.

2

24 – 48 Hours

Avoid strenuous exercise, hot tubs, or saunas — excessive heat can cause irritation. The treated hair follicles may feel like stubble, and the hair will begin to shed naturally.

3

Weeks After Treatment

You will notice a significant reduction in hair growth. Treated hairs will gradually shed from the follicles over this period.

4

Months After Treatment

As you progress through a series of treatments, you will see a progressive reduction in hair, leading to permanently smoother skin.
